Stacy, Grace, + Jack – Manitowoc, WI

I have two goals with each family’s documentary session. The first goal is while editing the images to see the personality traits of the children that their parents have shared with me during our initial consultation. The second is for mom to shed a tear (a happy one) while watching the slideshow. If I have accomplished both these things I feel I have done my job well.

When I met with Stacy she had shared with me that she enjoys photography herself and has many photographs of her children and husband. She also shared that because of this she fears Grace and Jack will look back on these photos of them growing up and not see her in them. I am happy that Stacy decided to take this time make sure that didn’t happen. I mean, she’s a hard working, loving, and fun mom to these two kiddos and she deserves that to be documented.

While going through the editing process of this session I could see all the things she had told me about her children come alive. The photos of Grace and their dog Max reminded me of her mom telling me what a kind heart she has. And when I saw Jack sneak off into the living room by himself and start to play with his Christmas toys I recalled that Stacy shared that he was very independent and always kept himself entertained.

After each session reveal I always like to get a couple words from the moms. Here is what Stacy had to say about their session:

“I most enjoyed being able to just enjoy time with my kids and not have to be posing or the normal stress that comes with “picture day”! Also, the revel… it brought tears to my eyes and make my heart so happy. I love the love that I see when I look at the images! What surprised me most about the session is not once did Whitney request we look at her or “pose”. We all commented that we didn’t even know she was with us most of the time! Very discreet and professional in all ways! The images differ from others sessions in the past in that they are “real life”, real emotion…and US!!”

Stacy, it was truly a pleasure getting to know you and your children. I thank you for opening your home and showing me the love that fills it! To see their entire session check out this slideshow.

Leave these three some love, if they get 25 comments on this blog post, they will receive a complimentary 8×10″ print of their favorite  image.

This is simply wonderful. You did a great job of capturing their everyday lives and the obvious love they share. The music choice was very fitting. I wish this is something I would have had to share with our now grown children. Beautiful memories!ReplyCancel
